Jerry W. Jernigan recently retired from the firm and no longer practices law. Over the course of his career, Jerry focused on business law and estate planning. Before joining Gardner Skelton, Jerry practiced as a solo attorney for 14 years. He was rated as an “AV Preeminent” attorney by the Martindale-Hubbell rating service.
Jerry attended Duke University and Duke law. He was drawn to a career in law because it offered the chance to be actively involved in the daily affairs of his clients and the challenge of helping them achieve their goals or solve their problems. Jerry's most grateful for the client relationships he's been privileged to enjoy over the years.
At Gardner Skelton, we dearly miss both Jerry’s wise counsel and his wisecracks, but we’re thrilled that Jerry has this time in his life to spend with his family and explore his passions, including music and poetry.
