PARALEGAL

Charlotte, NC
At Gardner Skelton, we’re not your typical law firm—and we’re proud of that. Based in the vibrant and eclectic NoDa neighborhood of Charlotte, we’re a Chambers-ranked, boutique firm that blends elite legal counsel with genuine approachability. From Fortune 500 giants to local startups, healthcare innovators to impactful nonprofits, our clients trust us because we’re smart, thoughtful, and relentlessly practical.

We handle employment law, business litigation, corporate guidance, tax law, healthcare law, construction law, and mediation. But more than just lawyers, we’re partners who deeply care about our clients, our community, and each other. Our office buzzes with collaboration (and occasional barking—because yes, we're proudly dog-friendly).

About the Role
We’re seeking an exceptional Paralegal who’s energized by impactful legal work, excited to dig into challenging cases, and thrives in a fast-paced environment with minimal direction. This role is designed for someone who’s part detective, part organizer, and all-around problem solver. If you pride yourself on meticulous research, clear communication, and keeping your cases—and your attorneys—prepared, you’re exactly who we’re looking for.

You’ll be a pivotal member of our team, trusted with important responsibilities and empowered to make meaningful contributions every day.

What You'll Do
• Act as a friendly and professional point of contact, communicating effectively with clients and various stakeholders.
• Manage and coordinate calendars, deadlines, appointments, and scheduling to ensure smooth case progression.
• Keep matters organized by diligently tracking tasks, deadlines, and related activities.
• Continuously refine and implement streamlined processes and procedures to boost efficiency.
• Draft, prepare, and meticulously proofread correspondence and other legal documents.
• Prepare document redlines, conduct conflict checks, and create engagement agreements accurately.
• Create clear, professional, and compelling PowerPoint presentations.
• Conduct thorough legal research to actively support case strategies.
• Efficiently gather, verify, and organize facts pertinent to ongoing matters.
• Draft detailed legal documents, including motions, subpoenas, complaints, and witness lists.
• Summarize case details effectively, preparing comprehensive and insightful reports.
• Perform in-depth legal document analysis and manage sophisticated e-discovery processes.

What You Bring
• Paralegal experience, ideally focused in one or more of our key practice areas.
• Superb organizational skills, exceptional attention to detail, and an analytical mind.
• Strong communication skills—you’re comfortable interacting confidently with clients, attorneys, and colleagues.
• Tech proficiency, especially with Microsoft Office Suite, case management software, and e-discovery platforms.
• Initiative and independence—you proactively tackle challenges and keep cases moving smoothly.
• Absolute discretion in handling confidential matters.
